Summer Programs

Art Camps

5 & 6th Grade Art Camp is open to all students entering 5th or 6th Grade in the Fall.  The week long camp concentrates on specific media and subjects.  Activities are designed to fit the skill set of a specific age range – not the student’s artistic ability.  New this year, DCES’s Junior High Art Camp is being presented in collaboration with Divine Child High School’s Art Department. The camp is open to all students entering 7th through 9th Grade. The two-week long camp, held at Divine Child High School, will focus on drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics.

READING CAMPS

Camp Read is open to all students entering 2nd through 5th Grade in the Fall.  The goal of the camp is to provide a structured literacy program that incorporates creativity, guided reading, and writing.

MATH CAMPS

Math Camp is open to all students entering 2nd through 5th Grade in the Fall.  The goal of the camp is to promote problem-solving and analytical thinking. Students discover different ways of learning math with hand-on activities, games, and technology.

Study Skills

The Reading and Study Skills program is open to all students entering 6th through 8th Grade in the Fall.  The program aims to help students foster a love of reading, develop organizational skills, learn test taking strategies, improve writing skills, and cultivate oral presentation skills.
