Hot Lunch Program
Divine Child Elementary School’s lunch program is contracted through the National School Lunch Program directed by the Archdiocese of Detroit. The lunches are nutritionally based and offer a variety of selections to meet the taste buds of all. The hot lunch program begins the second week of September and provides daily onsite cooked lunchtime meals throughout the year. Lunches consist of a main entrée, fruit item, vegetable item and low fat chocolate/white milk or lactose free milk.
Parents are able to pre-order and pre-pay on a monthly basis for the lunches via the Parent Portal. Students have staggered lunch times in the cafeteria followed by an outdoor recess. An application for free and reduced price lunches offered by the state is distributed to all students at the beginning of the year and is available throughout the year through the School Office.
Qualifying students at Divine Child Elementary School have access to the following personnel/services provided by the Dearborn Public School System: busing, teacher consultant, social worker, speech therapist and psychologist.
Divine Child Elementary School offers tutoring programs during the school year. In addition, Divine Child High School students are available as tutors at the high school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 – 4 p.m.
